THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Ken Canter, The Villas at Hawks Peak developer and well-known Greensboro businessman, has assembled a premier team to create one of the finest condo residences in the High Country. Canter has wide experience in new construction as well as adaptive reuse. He has a great appreciation for the history of this landmark building and has captured the essence of the facility by preserving its distinguishing architectural elements. He and his family plan to make one of the Villas their vacation home.

Steven Carter Price, Greensboro, North Carolina architect, designed the conversion of the building into breath-taking exceptional villas. Price is well-known in the High Country for his work on the renovation of the historic Blowing Rock home of Elliott Daingerfield, famous American artist of the early 20th Century, now the home to Westglow Spa. He is currently working on the preservation of Daingerfield's first painting studio. That building is destined to become a downtown Blowing Rock museum.

Shari Crangle, Winston-Salem, North Carolina interior designer, has worked with the design team to select beautiful colors, surfaces, finishes and hardware, handsome cabinetry, high fashion lighting and exterior appointments. Shari intended to create a subtle, high quality backdrop for the owners' furnishings and personal preferences.

Crangle has enjoyed a broad career working with architects on new and refurbished residences, offices, schools, universities and medical facilities. Her portfolio includes lakefront, beach and mountain home designs throughout the region. She specializes in "green architecture,” using materials and systems that are in harmony with the environment.

Al Hencken and Bob Haugh of Ideal Design and Development are the project contractors. This duo has spawned a virtual Renaissance in Seven Devils. Hailing from the New York area, these partners have built a series of homes in Seven Devils and the High Country that have set a new standard for quality, design and luxury. Their problem-solving ability and vision often create delightful serendipitous solutions for the homes they build. They pride themselves in improving and innovating each successive home they construct.

Bob Haugh has had a colorful career as a master renovator. He worked for Barbara Streisand and other luminaries in the renovation of their homes. He has renovated many Manhattan lofts and loves the challenge of turning an industrial building into a warm and inviting home. His most challenging renovation was the complete overhaul of the famous Las Vegas hotel, Treasure Island. Together Haugh and Hencken inspire a team of fine craftspeople and tradesman who turn ideas and dreams into homes of delight.
